I had resignedly assumed they would decide against the case as
discrimination....i.e those states that ban sodomy for everyone -
homosexuals and heterosexuals - would still be in the clear.  It would be
an advancement, but there wouldn't be enough of a majority to go all the
way yet.

But it seems they saved one of the biggest surprises, if not the biggest
one, for the very end of the session.  It wasn't even a 5-4 decision.
