An interesting analysis by the BBC's Paul Reynolds, who seems to take the 
concept of objectivity seriously:

In terms of mainstream news sources, the BBC in general is a lot less 
rah-rah about the war than the American press.  Maybe that's what happens 
when one of your colleagues gets killed by friendly fire.
