Massachussetts becomes the first state to allow gay marriages (as opposed
to just civil unions) -- at least until a state or federal constitutional
ammendment intervenes.  Their state supreme court issued a strong wording
that separate but equal historically has been proven to be unequal.

Something to celebrate in two weeks at Mardi Gras...
