BETRAYAL

The most painful of all feelings, because it leaves you trusting none,
leaves you totally alone, with no allies, sans companions and friends.

A lover who deserts and abandons her sweetest promises to you -- the
greatest of all betrayals -- taking back every thing she truly wanted you to
believe, everything you had hoped about her affection for you and of her
commitment to you, to be with you, ever an ally, ever an intimate, in on
your insides like no one else would ever be there, except for you.

And, suddenly, for that is the nature of betrayals, you find that there is
no one there beside you, in your mind, in your heart, in your soul, where
you had made room for that other -- just an empty space, the void of which
is imploding you, causing you to contract faster than neutron stars suck all
light down black holes, and still can not find themselves lit up.
