The US has taken on detainees.
They'd be called our prisoners of war,
a war which we are fighting contra-terror,
but the US chooses to ignore the law
and pretend these are people lacking rights,
which we have loudly proclaimed as world-wide.

The US position is untenable.
We call the law of rights "antiquated,"
and apply techniques of sheer torture,
as if we had a right to torment souls,
as if these impossible terrorists
were outside the scope of humanity.

So, they strike back in a peaceful protest
of refusing to eat the food we feed,
refusing to cooperate with us,
preferring to die of hunger than hate,
knowing that their lives are lost politics,
and that they shall not be charged nor yet tried.

Justice is a bayonet in the back,
a IV needle stuck in your shrunk arms,
forced into feed on the sugar waters,
the sap of life being pumped into you,
against your will to die a martyr's death.
