Mets are enticed by typical corporate offer:

Sell us the naming rights to your new stadium.

Imagine the scene:

New York sells its naming rights to BP!

The price - ten billion dollars - said the CEO,

Was such a fantastic bargain for a great asset.

Oh, sure, geographers will have re-map,

And people all over the world might be confused,

But, what the hey, that's business.

Welcome to BP!

Maybe Bush plans to sell the naming rights

Of all big names monuments in the US,

Including the US Capitol Building and the WH,

Even Plymouth Rock or mountain names could be sold.

Rename Mount Rushmore by selling its naming rights.

Will corporations provide the names

For our generations of sons and daughters?

Imagine the scene:

The Rabbi holds the child up,

And asks the name - "Exxon Mobile"

Reply the happy smiling new parents,

who sold naming rights for the child.

Oh, isn't little Exxy the cutest thing!
