The Quality of Evidence
 
Evidence is things seen,
dislodging things unseen,
the substance of all faith,
ever rooting in ignorance,
relying on its prejudices.
 
Price-taker Economics
says, given the ideals,
of a free market theory,
certain things will happen,
when all else is equal.
 
So, think living wages,
when the wages of life
are life or death issues,
such as food and shelter,
or access to health care.
 
The price-taker says,
marginal productivity
explains what happens
when you adjust wages
for any reason at all.
 
It is an ideal negative,
justifying forever stasis,
for every adjustment
would have such results,
reflecting any change.
 
Just say to NO to justice,
because it requires change:
Say NO to such changes
in the minimum wage rate,
because it has results.
 
Price-taker theory is wrong,
if a theory is descriptive,
substituting for experience,
but the evidence says NO,
its theory is not behavioral.
 
Economic behavior is elsewise,
people do not live in ideal markets,
and their behavior shows it,
employers are unwilling to share
productivity gains with workers.
 
Workers of the world unite,
to counter the monopolies;
they unite in unions of labor,
and statutes of labor laws,
to bring justice to fair being.
 
Compare apples and oranges:
there is less good evidence
for neo-classical economics,
than there is for evolution,
but fundamentalists ignore this.
 
Instead, the right wing rants
about the evidence for Darwin,
and seeks to bury that evidence,
in seas of uncharted foolishness,
rubes-cubed for intelligent designs.
 
The contradictions of neo-classics:
markets are not intelligently designed,
but damn everyone who'd fix them,
and invent a mighty god of nature,
who has already fixed it all for them.
