Pascalian Pensee:

Man is like a doughnut,
a toroid togologically.

So, too, are all mammals hot,
all fishes and reptiles cold,
all worms and snakes crawling,
all insects ever bugging us.

To be alive is to be a doughnut,
by shape fitted to a life-form.

The living passes through us,
for we eat the living, to live,
and pass it through to waste.

That is the essence of life,
the essential secret of being.

What happens within the hole?

We digest this food for thought,
we extract the useful (usable),
and we discard all of the rest,
in piles and puddles remaining.

We transform by deconstructing life,
down to its fragmented constituents,
and reconstruct them into ourselves.

It is hunger that defines man,
to fill this void of nothing
that makes him whatever he is,
and not what he leaves behind.

Civilization is defined thus:
outhouse annexed to a kitchen.
