[Newspoetry] Using Babylon on Babel of a Bible talk: a fugued men

I couldn't understand the text.

It was in a foreign language,

Vaguely resembling English,

But so vaguely my mind was confused,

Unable to go from words to their sense,

Or from my senses to such words.

I thought, "Ah, ha, I must translate!

I have here a reasonable software tool.

I shall apply it, to see what was said."

I meant, of course, a translator program,

Say Babylon. I had met her while surfing.

"Say, Baby," I said to my software galoot,

Who joins me in my galut gamut of way,

Rejoicing in Kantian words transliterally,

"Can you handle this big thick slab,

This monster text I am going to ram in you?"

She said, nothing, to my speculative remark,

But she swallowed the text, down to its roots,

Not even pausing to suck in fresh hairy air -

And then the fireworks shot off for the pair.

"Ah, when you speak English, my dear, I thrill

To every word that you speak so lusciously!"

By this point my screen was red-hot, glowing,

Its sober pixels were drunken, animated and dancing,

Aligning the bright moon and the shining of stars,

In some prophetic astrological configuration,

Portending a possible meaning of my confusion.

Said she, translating, "War is hell; I am Satan,

And I want to welcome you personally to hell.

By the way, I am hooked on oil, so grease me."

"What?" I exclaimed, now frightened and fearful!

How can Bush have said that and no one noticed it?

Ah, would that all used Babylon on his Bible Babel.
