U.S. Envoy Offers Grim Prediction on Iraq Pullout

Ryan C. Crocker and the Iraqi foreign minister are warning that the
departure of American troops could lead to a regional conflict that could
draw in Iraq's neighbors.

BLT: Big lie technique.

Say "Iraq" a thousand times.
Nay, a million times that, say it.
Say it until stars rise in western skies,
To settle against eastern horizons,
Words shy from meaning's glare.

Backdrops for invented truth
Only inverted nature shows;
If ever seen, lies are seen, lying,
On vast grounds are uncovered,
Nightshade shadows paper airplanes.

"Iraq" is like every land, nowhere,
And is ever only no man's land,
Except for cobbler of fabled past
Projected toward a fated future
As what "was" must "ever be".

Anon, in history, a hundred years ago,
No "Iraq" was on any map -
Turkey sprawled southeast to Persia.
Turkey lost in our War to End War:
Britain landed "Iraq" as a lottery prize.

The big truth: there is no Iraq,
As there are no Iraqi people:
Never has there been; never may there be,
as far as any eye may see,
or any person should care.

Planets lack political divisions,
Though popes may command them,
despots desire their flesh-and-blood:
Has Warring Martians or Loony Moonies
Drawn drunken lines to such blood banks?

Draw lines in shifting sands:
Some endure for decadent times,
por raisons des geopolitiques:
ironic crosses of wills to power
reason not by lies commonly given.
