"Revenge..." says ex-Secret-Tory-of-State Madeline Albright, whose 70th birthday
is this day coincides with the "anniversary" (sic? or sick?) of Governor George
Wallace's near fatal encounter with would-be-assassin Arthur Bremer, an event at
which I was nearly present, for I was living in Hyattsville MD scant miles from
the local shopping mall where bremer directed his fire at Wallace, and sitting
on the front steps of my apartment house, smoking a butt or two, in the late
afternoon, with the hot sun beating down gently, on the asphalt and the cars
that that were so willing to hide it, to reflect the painful searing waves of
energy pulses away from the soft black asphalt, shining, as it were, the light
into my eyes, glaringly.

But, the quote from dear fraulein Madeline is simpler, perhaps, than my errant
and wandering memories, of lives of past errors...

"Revenge is like the act of a man who bites a dog that has bitten him."

Too bad that GW Bush never discovered this truism,
when -- among his reasons for invading bombastic Iraq,
cruelly and illegally -- he chose to pursue revenge
for the alleged attacks of SH upon his family (honor) --
though we should never forget the incidental oil wells,
for as the dear playwright Goldsmith might have said,
:Love (of money) conquers all: a fact Falwell revered.

(And, being in transition from So.Da... to Wi..sin,
with communication likely to be restored Memorial Day,
may you find the news is better than it ever was before,
today Jerry flaws hell, tomorrow Cheney chokes up.
