That inspire the terrorist
Or guerilla or freedom fighter
Just as surely as any Bin-Laden video tape

Are not all the innocents killed
In an "enemy" country
Just as innocent as those
Who are so narrowly remembered
By most of the American public?
Innocence is like pregnancy
Your either are or you aren't
The "enemy" innocent are no less innocent
Than the innocent of our nation
Maybe they are even more innocent
And the crime of their deaths
All the greater

Are we really innocent in a democracy?
When we consented to such policies?
In the past?
And more of the same now?
Let alone
Embracing an unlimited future
Of such atrocities
In a limitless war on a noun

Bush may value the inheritance
Of the terrorists that his father helped create
A political windfall
They are the cost of blowback
Of previous policy gone astray

The cost of modern war
Is that there is no "good" side
To balance the "evil" that W
Wraps his lips around
There is only one side
The evil of butchery
Irrespective of politics
Do you really want
To be on that side?
