[Peace-discuss] Re: [Peace] Speaking the Truth in the Sticks

Hi,

I was one of the people who went to Sullivan, along with Kit and Emily.
The presentation actually was surprisingly even-handed (for a seminar like
this), although obviously not everything was presented in agreement with
our views, and the "military operations" personnel turned out to be an
enlistee who asked a lot of questions. We made much networking success,
both during the meeting and afterwards, and the teach-in was
well-publicized and is likely to be attended by people we met there. The
audience-- well, it ran the gamut of views, and it was a prime place for us
to be, in order to educate people, and educate ourselves both as to the
views of the general public and also about history (there was a lot
presented), as well as the added bonus of meeting a few delightful and
principled dissenters from other parts of the state.

I might try to write up something, although it could take a few days-- in
conjunction with others.

My main thrust of reporting is to encourage people to attend this kind of
event-- it's very, very important to have people do it.

Peace,
Barbara
