[Peace-discuss] Iowa Stubborn--ballroom style

No--not that musical number from the musical "The Music Man". But I am
going to that state for the first time. But it is at a price.....

I regret to tell you that I won't be able to not only see the Prince
Myshkins and Bang on the Box at Krannert, but also I am unable to see the
Women Making Waves concert showcase at the Courtyard Cafe (featuring Eleni
Moraites, although I saw Eleni and the Prince Myshkins at the Cabaret
Open Mic at IMC yesterday), and Sandra Ahten's Postcards for Peace party/
auction.

Instead, I have to go with the Dancing Illini (a ballroom dance club at
the University of Illinois). to the Cyclone Ballroom
Classic. Several members of the club will be carpooling me to Iowa. (The
name "Cyclone" is for the Iowa State University Cyclones--
the name of the sports team in football, basketball, etc.). It is at Iowa
State University. It features social dancing on Friday night, a
competition featuring a lot of ballroom dances on Saturday, and finally,
post-competitions workshops on Sunday.

I am very sad because almost all of you know me as a vivacious person who
loves to embrace alternative people and hippies as well as regular people.
I wanted especially to go to the Postcards for Peace on Sunday but all
plans are off.

I won't forget all of you friends. I will write a journal on what happened
at the Cyclone Ballroom Classic.
