This is so heartening. Great that Carl was there. Perhaps you did so already Ricky but how about inviting him (or them!) to a Sunday meeting and to a Saturday Protest on Prospect?

  Folks,

I received this from someone in Danville who had contacted us previously for advice and help organizing that town's first-ever anti-war march. I asked how it went, and he sent this:

"There were 7 adults and 2 kids in our group, small but spirited. Before the march, the auxillary police, who blocked traffic for us at a couple of intersections, asked me how many people I thought would be with us. I told them that if a dozen showed up I would be happy, one of them replied that that was ridiculous, that there should be forty or fifty of us. I knew one of them, having worked with him before he retired and our factory closed.
It was good to have Carl Estabrook with us too. Our local paper printed a fairly large picture of us in the next day's paper, that was cool. I had contacted them previously. We marched up Vermilion St., which is the main thoroughfare going north, for about a 1/2 mile, crossed the street, and marched back. We all had signs. One participant brought a digital camera and took a few snapshots of us, one of which was in front of the Federal Couthouse. I'm still waiting to have him send me that one so I can make it my desktop. When I get it I'll email it to you.
So how have the rallies in ChamBana been? Nothing about them on the media over here. Been hearing through the grapevine that there has been a couple of dozen participants and even a few arrested for jaywalking. Just rumors though.
Anyway, I've thought about our next one and what I'll do different. Thought of placing an ad in our paper for interested parties to contact me via phone or email, it's just hard to get the word out, ya know?"

I congratulated him on the march and let him know how we've been doing, but I thought others would like to see what's going on over there.

  Ricky
