Here's what I added when I sent this on:

"If you REALLY want to stimulate the economy and get consumer spending going
again it can be done VERY SIMPLY.

"Just triple the personal exemption.  Instead of $3000, it's $9000.  It will
cost the same amount as Bush's fraudulent plan and will actually WORK.  Even
better, it won't penalize the states, because it won't change the AGI."

    A new year begins and there they go again. Not even two weeks into the
new year, and President Bush is looking to give out another tax break
disguised as a "stimulus" to fat cats that leaves most middle class folk
with the short end of the stick.

    Remember the 2001 tax cut? This is déjà vu all over again, folks. The
Bush Economic Stimulus package provides $289 to the typical taxpayer, while
the top 1% of earners will average a take of $30,000. And the centerpiece of
Bush s plan, the elimination of taxes on stock dividends is something that
analysts of all stripes agree won t stimulate the economy at all.

    Fortunately, there is something you can do about it. Our friends and
colleagues at the Campaign for America's Future are leading a new
collaborative charge to stop the madness.

    You can make a difference in turning away this bogus "stimulus" bill by
sending a message to your representatives. We're not the only ones who are
skeptical -- Congress has been slow to warm up to the bill.
