Greetings:

We're compiling breaking news at these new pages:

Concerning Bush's 'WeaponsGate'
http://traprockpeace.org/weaponsgate.html
and
Blair's 'Dodgy Dossier'
http://traprockpeace.org/blairinquiry.html

The Bush Administration is backing off its claim that Iraq tried to buy
uranium from Niger. It's acknowledged a mistake in raising this during his
State of the Union Address. (Watch them blame the British for 'faulty
intelligence.')

_tb Democrats are calling for a full investigation of the bases for war.

Meanwhile, Tony Blair faced a grilling at the House of Commons yesterday
(can you imagine George Bush agreeing to appear before a Congressional
hearing?). This was a day after the House of Common Foreign Affairs
Committee issued its first report. Per the Independent - "The committee
challenged the Government, which must respond in detail to the report in two
months, to say whether it still believed the document [Blair's September
dossier] was accurate "in the light of subsequent events" - the failure yet
to find WMD. "

We knew the claims were false. See the Counter-Dossier by Dr. Glen Rangwala
and Alam Simpson, MP and released last September,
http://www.traprockpeace.org/counter-dossier.html
It was published in the US on the Traprock site and in booklet form, and
then distributed to members of Congress during three days before and during
EPIC's Lobby Day.

So, this is hardly a surprise. Yet, the "jury is still out" per the House
of Commons committee.

Not satisfied with the Foreign Affairs Committee Report (recommendations and
conclusions) http://traprockpeace.org/HofCFAC070703.html
the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) has called for an independent
judicial inquiry into the false claims. If the government does not hold such
an inquiry, it will face litigation. The Conservatives and Liberals have
joined in calling for this inquiry. See CND's press release at
http://traprockpeace.org/CNDpressrelease070703.html

American media has been notoriously lacking in covering these issues, though
the Post and NY Times are finally giving some prominence to these issues.

This all comes on the heals of former US ambassador Joseph Wilson's whistle
blowing about the fraudulent uranium claim. We've compiled articles on the
matter at http://traprockpeace.org/iraqnigeruraniumstory.html
with links to the original sources.

Stay tuned.
