[Peace-discuss] Hedges' speech

This is an excellent speech that captures the futility of war and its impacts. With the advent of blind patriotism and willingness to give up freedoms for temporary safety and security  following the U.S. created, stimulated, and manufactured crisis of  9-11; individuals who disrupted this very important message are willfully ignoring reality and their own moral, ethical, and religious obligations. All of the individuals who were yelling support the troops before and during he battle have not continued that effort and now casualites are beginning to increase amongst combat veterans. War is simply about dying, injury, and destruction.  Somehow the glorification of war must cease. This speech was a valiant attempt to distribute that message but it was/is ignored becasue the message is unwanted, disturbing, and requires action.
