Although there may be more acceptance of gay life style and gay marriages, 
that is a marriage between (1) a man and a man and (2) a woman and a woman or 
civil union where (1) a man and man live together and (2) woman and woman live 
together as partners; the majority of the population still view those 
relationships as wrong- that is immoral.  Consequently members of mainstream political 
partys  will not allienate the predominant voting groups by giving full 
support to legal recogniton of that life style.
