[The "Tipton Three" - thoroughly innocent Britons, friends from boyhood, who
were caught up in the war in Afghanistan and then Guantanamo, now just
released, tell their story to the Observer (UK). They miraculously survived
to tell firsthand accounts of horrific war crimes that occurred in
Afghanistan during the war as well as those that continue today at
Guantanamo. Lots of attention on this in Britain, but, of course, you'll not
find this anywhere in U.S. corporate media. It's long and it's painful to
absorb, but this has all happened (and continues to happen) in our name, so
I entreat folks to try getting through it if they can. There are intriguing
insights from the three about the inmates at Guantanamo and about the real
purpose of the whole camp the end of the piece - RC]
