Hello Global Exchange Supporter.

My name is JoJo Farrell I coordinate the Cuba Program at Global Exchange.  I
am coming to your part of the world to participate in a workshop at the
University of Illinois.
We are working with groups all over the country and world to pressure the
Congress to end the travel ban on Cuba.  While I am visiting I am trying to
organize an informal Cuba Update House Party.  I have one planned for
Chicago for February 26th.  I will in Urbana/Champagne on Feb. 28th and Mar.
1st and I would love to hold an event while I am there.  The format is very
casual and its intention is to get people together and let them know what
Global Exchanges role is in the Freedom To Travel Movement.  I have a couple
short documentaries I can show on Cuba and will have a very brief
presentation to share.  It can be a potluck, a film viewing, a traditional
party or an open discussion.  If anyone is interested in hosting or coming
to this event please let me know.  We are heading to D.C. April 26th and
27th with a group of at least 1000 people from all over the U.S. to lobby
Congress to end the ban.  They have passed it the last 3 years but President
Bush has said he will veto anything that wants to normalize relations with
Cuba.  We view this as an infringement on our rights more than any issue
with Cuba.  Popular opinion is on our side and we are only 30 votes away
from a veto proof bill.
