The Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership (AEL) at the UIUC
has announced that grants are available to graduate students
interested in writing a case study about a local (non-profit)
organization.

The organization in question should be grappling with a
difficult decision (moving, expansion, funding, recruitment,
retention, etc). The case study is written in consultation
with a professor and the staff at the Academy. The professor
will use the study as part of some future curriculum for a
course about entrepreneurship. This is a way for the Academy
to increase entrepreneurial course offerings at the university.

The case would provide an executive board (or other governing
body) with a valuable tool for making the best possible
informed decision based on the experience of others in the
same field and the knowledge of experts.

The Academy is a new department at the university that has
received funding from the Kauffman Foundation and whose
mission is to establish and promote research in the
entrepreneurial field. The staff is professional,
knowledgeable, connected and very nice to work with.

This is a great way to supplement academic funding and as well
as provide some expert consultation services to local
organizations that could help them develop optimal planning
and management change strategies.

Examples of case studies can be found at (scroll down to
'KACE Competition'):
