The [British] foreign secretary, Jack Straw, today dismissed
suggestions that Britain's involvement in the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan contributed to the terrorist attacks in London on
July 7 ... "The time for excuses for terrorism is over," he
said. [Amen.] ... Mr Straw said ... that terrorists "will seek
any excuse" to strike. [They certainly did.]
