There's no way we'll skip this event!  Hold off on the letters to editor/other public accusations for now.  If we've already put them in a bad light, it's out there, and Taste has no fear of exposure to encourage them reconsider.  Schedule a meeting asap..... Our emmissaries should be sweet, unflappable and tenacious..... Let's give the organizers the benefit of the doubt, have a replacement application and check in hand, and expect them to assign us space. WEFT should do likewise, independent of AWARE.  (What's the excuse they're giving WEFT -- another missing application and check??)  But if the organizers won't accept the replacement applic't'n and check and assign us space, then yes, join forces, schedule anoather meeting, and make our demands united and stronger.  If they continue to turn us down -- unthinkable -- then make a HUGE stink about it.

Linda Evans has reported to me that the commissars of
Taste of Champaign claim to never have received our
application, and that our check has not been cashed.

I think that this is outrageous. WEFT was not given a
table either. There is plenty of space for tents,
whether we are on their map or not. Does anyone want
to respond to this situation? Do we want to join with
WEFT to demand a space?
