The first link in this article is mistaken, and will
be corrected.

The conclusion of this article emphasizes the
importance of Campus Hillel and local Jewish
Federations in promoting McCarthyism on college
campuses. This conclusion contains two links to my
documentation of this phenomenon at the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The current academic year was concluded by a showing
of “Peace, Propaganda, and the Promised Land” at the
McKinley Foundation (campus Presbyterian church), with
post-discussion led by Professor of Media Studies
Robert McChesney; and by a visit from the Wheels of
Justice bus, with Mazin Qumsiyeh, Palestinian-American
activist and author of “Sharing the Land of Canaan,”
who spoke at the Illini Union and Campus YMCA.

The response of the leaders of Champaign-Urbana Jewish
Federation and campus Hillel was first, to not attend
any of the scheduled events; and second, to privately
chastise the directors of McKinley and YMCA for
hosting these events, complaining that they were an
affront to Jewish efforts to promote positive
interfaith relations on campus.

I would like to add one link, pertaining to Hedy
Epstein’s appearance at Stanford University last fall.
This incident should have been included in my article,
but I carelessly omitted it:
