Dear AWARE,

This is Jen from the Progressive Resource/Action Cooperative (PRC). I am
contacting you today to ask for AWARE's co-sponsorship of an upcoming event
we're holding!

On November 17th, the PRC will be holding an anti-war rally in solidarity
with National "Not Your Soldier" Student Day of Action from 12-1pm. We will
also have a quad booth for part of the day. With this anti-war rally, we
hope to focus on counter-recruitment and military counseling on campus. The
event will feature several speakers (TBA), banners and signs, chants,
information and resources for people thinking about enlisting, are currently
enlisted, and veterans, and much more!

For more information on the National Day of Action, please visit:
http://www.nyspc.net/notyoursoldier.php. For more information about the PRC
and upcoming events, please visit: http://www.prairienet.org/prc.

Agreeing to co-sponsor entails letting us use AWARE's name on all our
publicity as a co-sponsor. Also, we would ask that you help us publicize
the event by announcing it to your membership and e-mail lists, encouraging
your members to attend the event, and possibly putting up some of our
flyers. Monetary donations to help us defray the costs of bringing the
keynote speakers will be much appreciated, but it's by no means required.

If AWARE would like to co-sponsor, please reply to me by **Monday, November
7th at 5pm.** Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the
event or about co-sponsorship. Thank you very much for your support, and we
hope to hear from you!

In Solidarity,
Jen Tayabji
PRC Co-coordinator

"If we remember those times and places--and there are so many--where people
have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least
the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different
direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait
for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of
presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance
of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory."

--Howard Zinn
