Mazin Qumsiyeh was in our town last year. He continues to struggle
for his (just) cause. His latest foray was to write an article which
was published in the slick magazine, Global Agenda, of the World
Forum, and then instantly repudiated under pressure from Zionist
forces. In the following, there is aninteresting link about Zionism
at http://www.mg.co.za/articlePage.aspx?articleid=262541&area=/
insight/insight__comment_and_analysis/

> According to the "Jewish Telegraphic Agency" (Feb 5), the president
> of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab will shut down its
> magazine Global Agenda after it published my article calling for a
> boycott of Israel (see http://www.qumsiyeh.org/
> theworldeconomicsforumcontroversy/ for background, stories, and
> attacks ). To quote JTA "An economics magazine will be shut down
> after running an anti-Semitic article [sic]. The promise to shut
> down Global Agenda was made in a Feb. 3 letter from the head of the
> World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab, to the head of the
> American Jewish Committee, David Harris. Schwab said the article,
> which called for an international boycott of Israel, was
> 'inflammatory and venomous.' It will be replaced in the reprinted
> Global Agenda with an editorial by Schwab about the values of the
> forum. He added that it will be the last issue of the magazine."
> The "values of the forum" seem to be to host war mongers like Paul
> Wolfowitz and Henry Kissinger and engineer globalization to serve

> It is ludicrous for such groups as the American Jewish Committee,
> JTA and other non-Semitic arms of Israeli colonialism to hurl the
> term "anti-Semitic" at any Semite who challenges occupation,
> oppression, and apartheid or calls for adopting non-violent methods
> (boycotts and divestments) to challenge oppressive systems. It
> indicates levels of desperation in trying to muffle the increasing

> born into the Jewish faith and is South African minister of
> Intelligence wrote an article about this titled "Myths of Zionism
> (Mail & Guardian Online). In it he states that "The danger of
> labelling as 'anti-Semitic' anyone critical of Israel and Zionism
> is that the term degenerates into a hollow cliché, and will be
> ignored when the real alarm is sounded." Here is the article:

> Another article titled "Worlds apart" assesses the comparison of
> South African and Israeli systems of apartheid. The Guardian
> newspaper published this with this forward: "Israelis have always
> been horrified at the idea of parallels between their country, a
> democracy risen from the ashes of genocide, and the racist system
> that ruled the old South Africa. Yet even within Israel itself,
> accusations persist that the web of controls affecting every aspect
> of Palestinian life bears a disturbing resemblance to apartheid.
> After four years reporting from Jerusalem and more than a decade
> from Johannesburg before that, the Guardian's award-winning Middle
> East correspondent Chris McGreal is exceptionally well placed to
> assess this explosive comparison. Here we publish the first part of
> his two-day special report" Text at http://www.guardian.co.uk/

> Free speech is used to insult a religion of 1.3 billion people
> (Islam) while insisting that no one can question a political
> movement that has hijacked the media discourse, has ethnically
> cleansed and stole the land of the Palestinian people (political
> Zionism, not a religious movement), and continues to engage in
> gross violations of basic human rights to this day (see latest

> fabricated history of this fascist movement is not allowed. In
> 1947, Albert Einstein and prominent Jews wrote a letter criticizing
> the terrorist Zionist movement Herut (forerunner of Likud and then
> run by a murderer who was to become prime minister of Israel).
> That letter published in the New York Times (see copy at http://
