Peace-discuss,

I am deeply troubled by the story of the servicemen who picked up a man in Hamdania, Iraq, put him in a ditch and shot him, then planted a shovel and an AK-47 near the body.

As I am troubled by the story of the men who killed the family of the Iraqi teenage girl.

And of course the torture stories.

Even the looting done by our soldiers bothers me.

Were these people criminals when we sent them to Iraq? Did the military turn them into criminals? Did the stress turn them into criminals? Are these people going to be part of normal society?

The US is supposed to be creating order, but our troops are part of the disorder.

And during Hurricane Katrina, some of these same people who had been in combat were sent in to create order. Some treated the situation as if they were in combat again.

Even police officers and prison guards have a really high rate of spousal and child abuse. People have always had troubles separating their violent jobs from their lives.

Children of violent parents become violent themselves. We will suffer from this "war" with generations of violence.

How even moreso Iraq suffers.
