(please be there for start of program at 5:20)

Speaking: "a performance that bridges distance and rejects mediation"

In this performance three "Iraq Veterans Against the War" bridge the
distance to the Iraq War with memories. These memories are spoken
testimonies that reject the sensationalized, binary, and ideological
narratives presented by politicians and mass media.

In contrast the emotions and anxieties of a personal war experience are
embraced, resulting in layers of dialog that complicate not only mass
media's narrative of the war but also the visual memory expressed in the
painting "Between F.O.B. Junction City and the Tigres River..."

5/31 Thu 7pm? Brookens Administrative Center, Washington & Lierman, Urbana
The fourth, and possibly final, county zoning hearing for proposed
Hindu temple in Hensley Township (near Mattis and Hensley, about 2 miles
	north of Olympian Drive).

	   http://www.co.champaign.il.us/COUNTYBD/zbaagenda.htm

The temple would be a 5-acre site on the western edge of a 40-acre
strip of agricultural land; the remaining 35 acres are to remain
in agricultural use. The temple project faces opposition from
homeowners in an ~80-acre developed area (Thor-O-Bred Acres)
	immediately to the south.

	This is the group's second attempt (at least) to find a temple site;
a proposal for one in east Urbana on High Cross Road, a couple of years
ago, likewise faced stiff opposition from neighbors. The nearest
existing Hindu temple is in Peoria.
