"The Birmingham Children's March"
Saturday, Feb. 17 at 12:30 pm
Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 S. Vine St.

Peace and Blessings,

This Saturday, CU Citizens for Peace & Justice will host a video
showing and discussion of "The Birmingham Children's March." This
film shows how the children participated and broke the back of
segregation. Despite the eloquence of Dr. King's Letter from a
Birmingham Jail, it did not receive much local or national attention
when released, and worries continued to mount within SCLC about the
campaign's impending failure. Dr. King knew that the movement was at
turning point and needed something to revitalize the movement, and so
he called in a secret.

If you are at all interested in the principles that were necessary to
turn a bull (Bull Conner) into a steer, then you don't want to miss
this powerful and riveting documentary.

Join the discussion this Saturday from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. Refeshments
will be served!

Be Peace, Be Just
