The trouble with seeing the neocons as a conspiracy is that they
broadcast both their intentions and their contempt for liberal
democracy (I mean liberal in the old sense of respecting
individual liberty). It is the press that dropped the ball.
They were at best fools to promote administration positions
without any fact checking. I note with pleasure that they are
not being so easily suckered with regard to the anti-Iran rhetoric.
