My husband and I were the recent victims of FBI harassment and I was curious if anyone else has had a run-in with them.
   
  My husband, who is Palestinian, and I were visiting his father in California for 3 weeks.  At 7:30 one morning, we got a knock on the door of his father's apartment.  It was two FBI agents, wanting to speak with my husband and me.  (Number one, how did they know I was in California unless they had been watching me from before?  I'm not a resident there, haven't worked, filed taxes or applied for anything under that address and my husband is back and forth between there and Champaign.)
   
  They wanted to speak with us separately, so they took him outside first and kept him the better part of an hour.  They searched his father's van during that time.  I doubt they had a warrant, but he didn't know his rights and as I was inside not knowing what was going on, I couldn't tell him.
   
  Next they took me outside and made small talk for about 20 minutes before coming to the point:  "Is your husband a member of Hamas?"  Next question:  "Are YOU a member of Hamas?"  It was so ridiculous I almost laughed, but they were serious.  They told us they would be in contact with us again.
   
  Is there any recourse we have against this kind of intimidation?
