[Peace-discuss] churches: United Methodists are asking to Stop Funding the Iraq War

[Every once in awhile, I like to point out that some of the mainstream churches, or parts thereof, are actually taking a stand on the war. -karen medina]

Below is a message from the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society.

>   |  This week the U.S. House of Representatives will|
>   |  debate the $124 billion Iraq Supplemental       |

>   |  continues funding for war even though the House |
>   |  disapproved the President's decision to send    |
>   |  more troops to Iraq.  It time to end the war and|
>   |  bring U.S. troops home.  There is no military   |
>   |  solution to the conflict.                       |

>   |  Please call your Representative to urge him/her |

>   |  1. Support the Lee amendment which restricts    |
>   |  spending to fund only a safe and orderly        |
