Bio of Mr. Abdul Hadi Hantash :
Abdul Hadi began his work for the municipality of Hebron in 1978 as a land surveyor and cartographer. He has continued this field of research for the last 28 years. Today he is an official "Consultant to the Palestinian Authorities for Wall and Settlement Affairs."

He chairs the Land Defense Committee for the Hebron District in the West Bank. The committee is a Palestinian NGO that monitors settlement expansion. He has testified in Israeli courts more than two-hundred times. He is regularly interviewed by journalists to discuss land issues with regard to various methods by which Israel legally seizes Palestinian land, through hundreds of military laws. He knows every dunum (acre) in Hebron. Palestinians and Israelis highly regard his work.

A member of a Palestinian committed to non-violence, Mr. Hantash works closely with Israeli/Palestinian peace organizations such as Rabbis for Human Rights (which includes over 400 Rabbis both in Israel and internationally), Peace Now (the most widely know group which includes Israeli military and civilian members), Bt'Selem, and many smaller groups.

In 2002, Mr. Hantash toured three states: New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania at the invitation for Americans for Middle East understanding. He spoke of his work to universities, human rights groups, and various religious institutions. He was very well received.

In 2005 and again in 2006, Mr. Hantash again toured and spoke in a variety of States and visited Washington DC twice. He spoke with over 30 Congressional Staffer, the US State Department, Israeli and Palestinian groups in the DC area.
