[Peace-discuss] : New Illinois state law requires moment of silence

Well of course this dreadful, and it's because school prayer is still uacceptable (tho' who knows for how long)... analogous to "partial birth abortion," w/ Roe v Wade waiting in the wings to be overturned...
   
  Not sure if schools will actually enforce/be able to enforce this (a discipline problem in the making?) but it'd be nice to think kids and teachers might use it to center themselves and think peaceful thoughts.

Heard about this bill on the radio this morning and had two reactions, or maybe 2.5:

Doesn't our legislature have anything better to do than this?

On the other hand, silence really is too scarce, so encouraging more of it
should be a welcome development.

But do we need a law to do that?
