[Peace-discuss] "Origin of the Arab-Israel Conflict"

Israeli historian Yosef Gorny will give two lectures on "The Origin of the Arab-Israel Conflict." They will take place on Tuesdays, Oct. 23 and 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Reading Room of Leavis Center.
   
  These lectures are sponsored by the Program for Jewish Culture and Society. If those who care about Palestinian rights do not attend in a significant number, it will become an intra-Jewish discourse among Zionists of various persuasions, all of whom support racism, apartheid and occupation in various degrees from the implicit to the explicit. It will not give voice to the Palestinian human rights perspective, or to a perspective critical of American support for Israel and American imperialism in the Middle East.
   
  I would encourage those who are able to attend and who support peace with justice in Israel and Palestine, as well as those who oppose U.S. imperialism in the Middle East, make their presence felt and their voices heard in a respectul but critical manner.
