The 911 Commission was a farce from the beginning. Under any honest assessment, the 911 Commission
cannot be considered objective. The commission was tightly controlled by Thomas Kean and Lee
Hamilton, a key Republican politician and a veteran retired Congressman with strong connections to the
military-industrial complex. The executive director of research Phillip Zelikow was a committed neocon
with close ties to Condi Rice personally and professionally. He had led the Bush inaugural transition team
after the 2000 "election." He also authored the 2002 National Security Strategy outlining the doctrine of
pre-emptive war. Zelikow's research team had a clear conflict of interest and together with its leaders
prevented all information damaging to the information from coming to light. Hence, absolutely no
discussion in the final report about the collapse of WTC 7.
