 Hi,

I wanted to let you know that we have a very exciting speaker coming to
speak at the Law School in the Auditorium at Noon on Tuesday, April 8. The
speaker is Shanta Driver, who is a lawyer and organizer for a group called
BAMN (By Any Means Necessary - www.bamn.com). Ms. Driver was the legal
architect for the Michigan Law School Affirmative Action case. She will be
speaking about the New Civil Rights Movement and the Supreme Court' Civil
Rights Jurisprudence, subjects many of you are likely interested in. The law
school is on Pennsylvania and Fourth. Thanks. I cut and pasted the flyer for
the event:

Hi All,
This week the Prison Impact group will meet at Caffe Paradiso on 801 S
Lincoln Ave. in Urbana. Join us for coffee or tea as we discuss sections IV
and V of "Invisible Punishment: The Collateral Consequences of Mass
Imprisonment" ed. Marc Mauer and Meda Chesnesy-Lind. The discussion will
begin at 7pm.

Our next April meeting (4/22) will be held back at the IMC; we will screen
"Up the Ridge" and talk more about efforts to reform supermax prison policy.

Hope to see you Tuesday!
