GOP is sending out talking points for McCain supporters --
This came from one of our networked delegates from another state....

Thought y'all would get a charge out of reading what McCain's handlers
are poking at the
his "supporters" at the convention.

<<Also, in the next week or so, several members of the press may be
contacting you as they begin to write stories heading into the
convention. Accordingly, I have attached some talking points for you all
from the convention._

_Senator John McCain_

· It is an honor to serve as a delegate to the convention that will
nominate John McCain.

· I believe John McCain is the right person to lead our country – and I
am confident that when Americans watch the convention and learn more
about his unparalleled record of leadership and service, they will agree.

· The convention gives our party a chance to share John McCain’s record
of leadership and his vision for our country’s future with millions of
Americans.

· John McCain has the leadership experience, judgment, and character we
need in our president and commander in chief.

· A decorated war hero and leader in the U.S. Senate, John McCain has
devoted his life to the service of our country. He has always put
country first – and he understands what’s right for America is more
important than self-interest or partisan politics.

· John McCain is a reformer with a record of results. He doesn’t just
promise change, he delivers it. Whether the issue is greater
transparency in government or the elimination of wasteful spending, John
McCain has proven he can take on Washington special interests and win.

· John McCain has put forward a strong agenda for America that will get
our economy back on track and usher in a new era of prosperity. His
agenda includes lower taxes, reduced spending, and greater access to
health care.

· As commander in chief, John McCain will lead an America in pursuit of
peace and seen as a beacon of hope and goodwill throughout the world.

_Convention_

· I am excited to be attending the 39^th Republican National Convention

o The convention will be held Sept. 1-4 in Saint Paul, Minnesota at the
Xcel Energy Center.

· The 2008 Republican National Convention promises to be a historic event.

o This is the first time the convention has been held in Minnesota since
1892.

o This will be the most tech-savvy convention to date.

§ Close to 200 bloggers have been extended credentials; that’s a
15-fold increase from the 2004 convention.

§ The convention has a YouTube channel; an interactive online forum
called Convention iNSIDER; and social networking pages on Facebook,
Twitter, MySpace, and LinkedIn. More than 3,000 people have signed on
as Facebook supporters.

· The convention is also a great opportunity for those of us
participating as delegates to answer Senator McCain’s call to serve a
cause greater than one’s own self-interest.

o As a delegate, I will be involved in the convention proceedings. I
feel fortunate to have this unique opportunity to actively participate
in our nation’s democratic process.
