[Peace-discuss] Re: [Peace] The "new anti-semitism" is back on campus

In reading the brochure I get the impression that Brunstein was invited to
give this speech. As such it's not being presented as an academic lecture.
Now the organizations website in their "Myth and Fact" section does
specifically state supporting Israel and that could well be taken as
evidence to support the bias you referred to.
*
There will be no pretense at exploring an Arab/Muslim perspective

*Why would there be any pretenses or intentions of exploring different
cultural perspectives? Let me be clear that I'm not advocating prejudice in
any way shape or form. By that same token I am not blind to the conduct of
the United States in matters of foreign affairs. Every organization and
group has its own culture, and my question would be is it realistic to
suggest that this particular organization consider the Arab/Muslim point of
view? We are not just talking about politics - it goes further and deeper
than that. A communication perspective on this would suggest that identity
and social constructs would need to be explored in order to understand the
politics of a given situation.

Peace, Marti
