Come on, Robert (all my posts to you seem to start that way). The only way
you'll get wine from me is if I buy you a drink. (We meet at the Esquire every
Saturday after my radio shows.) And you know as well as I do that "Christ" is
not a name (he wasn't the son of Mr. & Mrs. Christ) but a title -- christ is a
past participle meaning anointed (= christened). His name in English would be
properly "Joshua the Anointed" ("Jesus" being the English form of the Latin
translation of the Greek translation of the Aramaic original, which was the name
we translate as "Joshua" in English bibles), Joshua (= YHWH rescues) being of
course the successor to Moses who actually led the people into the promised
land... --CGE
