Not that it matters, but any idea what the tickets cost?

This Friday at 8pm at the IMC there will be what promises to be a great show by a political satirist / performer named Roy Zimmerman. This email from the Prince Myshkins completely convinced me to go. And this clip from youtube sealed the deal: http://youtube.com/watch?v=xlUyNmUABbc. Thought others on this list might also be interested...

  Dear Folks,

We Myshkins are so excited for you. On March 28th, you will not only have the opportunity to see one of the greatest songwriters and performers in the history of political satire, but you will actually TAKE the opportunity and be incredibly glad that you did!

ROY ZIMMERMAN is amazing, and without him, the Prince Myshkins would be unlikely to have existed in the first place. If you've heard us, you've heard his songs. As the leader of the Foremen (who make the Capitol Steps and their ilk seem like soggy popsicle sticks), he penned such classics as "California Couldn't Pay Our Education," "Three Strikes and You're Out," "Who Needs Art?," "Ain't No Liberal," "Saddam Shame" and countless others. His increasingly amazing solo career has produced songs like "Defenders of Marriage," "My TV," "Chickenhawk," "Jerry Falwell's God," "Ted Haggard is Completely Heterosexual," and the YouTube megahit "Creation Science 101."

Roy's skills at rhyming are--and we say this without hyperbole--fully equal to those of a master like Tom Lehrer, and he's received praise from Lehrer himself, as well as from Joni Mitchell, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and the Prince Myshkins, among many, many others.

In his solo show, FAULTY INTELLIGENCE, Roy gives astounding, theatrical performances that are very likely to make some of you fall off your chairs. Roy's stage persona and inter-song repartee floor us every time, revealing undreamt-of nuances between the nuances we already knew were there.

Roy lives in California, and doesn't get out to the Midwest too often. Check out his website and his YouTube page, but take our word for it--there's no substitute for Roy Zimmerman in person, and nothing like "Faulty Intelligence" anywhere.

(He's also a sweet, smart, approachable guy who you should say hello to after the show).

It all happens on FRIDAY, MARCH 28th at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center (the old Urbana Post Office) 202 S. Broadway / Urbana, IL at 8 p.m.

all the best from Madison,

Rick and Andy
The Prince Myshkins
