Sometimes graphic representations of the crucifixion are offered on the 4th.
Seldom are the graphic implications of war offered.

What I have been visualising as an idea for an attention getting 4th of July float
is as follows, combining (!) the agrarian concept of the prairies
with the concept of implements of war ...

(Maybe this really IS too graphic...)

A military camouflaged Humvee-like combine (War Machine) affixed with a harvesting head
is harvesting rows of soldiers, and sheep, and babies.

There is some processing machinery inside as evidenced by the crunching and pounding of machinery
and visible gears and pulleys spinning on the outside.

Blood (red colored water circulated by a pump) pours out of
ports on the sides of the contraption.

The machine outputs bales of straw with hands, feet, hair, etc.
sticking out simulating bales of body parts (fodder of war).

A grain hopper fills with money "Corporate War-time Profits".

Behind the machine are rows of crosses arrayed as rows of stubble left after harvest.

because somebody has to sit on the curb
and applaud when they go by."
