Hope is that those who can see the truth continue to speak up in effective ways, no matter what.

OK, so all these American citizens have spoken out.  They're contacted their Congresspersons to express their opposition to the bailout.  Yet it appears that the bailout will be enacted soon, if it hasn't been already.  What's next?  What kind of speaking up would be "effective"?

And why do you suppose it will fly, Carl?   You've quoted statistics about how many ordinary Americans are writing their Congresspersons to express their displeasure with the proposed bailout (10 to 1 against, 99 to 1 against, etc.)  If the Americans on Main Street are not unintelligent or uninformed, why do so many of the transparently mendacious Bush lies fly?  Learned helplessness on the part of the American people?
