Venezuela and U.S. Clash in OAS Over Synagogue Attack

Representatives of Venezuela and the United States to the Organization of
American States (OAS) shared concerns about last Saturday's attack on a
prominent synagogue in Caracas and accused each other's governments of
playing a role in the incident. Also, the Venezuelan foreign relations
minister met with representatives of the Venezuelan Jewish community to
offer condolences and to guarantee a successful investigation.

Polish trade-unions support Mitsubishi workers in Venezuela

A meeting was held in the headquarters of the biggest Polish trade-union
confederation to discuss the situation in Venezuela. At the end of the
meeting a letter of protest against the repression of the Mitsubishi
workers was handed to the delegation from Venezuela which included a
member of the Venezuelan National Assembly. Polish workers expressed their
solidarity with Venezuelan workers and urged the Venezuelan delegation to
raise the issue of the repressed workers to President Chavez.
