[Peace-discuss] any issues to bring to statewide ICJPE coalition?

Hey all,

Tomorrow afternoon I'll be at the statewide IL Coalition for
Justice, Peace & the Environment meeting in Chicago.
Part of the point will be to plan the statewide meeting in April
(which will also be in Chicago).

But, this is also the time to bring issues we care about
to get the attention of the statewide coalition.

ICJPE keeps a collection of actions, and records which
of the 100+ member orgs are supporting or participating in each, at:

          http://icjpe.org/actions/

Actions go from things like "Camp Hope" (camping outside Obama's
Chicago home from Jan 1st until just before inauguration day),
to "A New New Deal: What It Should Look Like", film showings,
a delegation to Colombia, all sorts of things.

Karen suggested, for example, that we might try to get a
statewide wish list of issues for the new Administration
(along the lines of the AWARE Calls on Obama flyer) -- it'd have
a lot more weight than coming from any one of us.

Or, we might call for drafting a statement about Gaza.

Another statewide issue could be Blackwater organizing --
I don't know what the status of Clearwater is.

If you have ideas, or think of questions to ask,
please lemme know.

thanks

   Stuart
