He is good at reaching out to and touching people; that is what he does
best. However, wow to those who he reaches out to with promises and
projections to gain their confidence; they frequently - more often than not
- in the true confidence game tradition are left holding the empty bag after
he gets fromthem what he wants. Ask the unions, the anti-war people, the
people on the left, the single payer health care people, the people who were
told there would be more transparency in government policy and decision
making, the people who thought he stood for just and equitable treatment of
those who suffered under the dictatorship of G.W. Bush and Dick Cheney with
the guidance of Rove, Addington, and crew?

I bet he did not tell the Russian People how ineffective popular
participation in governmental decisions regarding the various bailouts,
universal health care, the openness of public records concerning the torture
and imprisonment of people by the government, the maintaining of the policy
on renditions, etc.

. 'You get to decide what comes next,' Obama said. 'You get to choose where
change will take us. Because the future does not belong to those who gather
armies on a field of battle or bury missiles in the ground - the future
belongs to young people with the education and imagination to create.'"

What a bunch of PR bullshit. Probably closer to the truth was to be found in
his saying that "it was up to the new generation of leaders in Russia and
the United States to decide how to solve the world's woes" - namely
establishment elites . And not just any establishment elites; but
specifically those from specific countries with the elites and the masses in
the rest of the world left as slaves to the decisions of the specified
establishment elites.

Christi Parsons and Michael Muskal, The Los Angeles Times: "In a
far-reaching speech to graduates of the New Economic School in Moscow, Obama
said the old Cold War rivalries that marked the second half of the 20th
Century were gone and it was up to the new generation of leaders in Russia
and the United States to decide how to solve the world's woes. 'You get to
decide what comes next,' Obama said. 'You get to choose where change will
take us. Because the future does not belong to those who gather armies on a
field of battle or bury missiles in the ground - the future belongs to young
people with the education and imagination to create.'"
