I'm not convinced Harper's position is to anybody's left, yet. There are plenty of conservative reasons to pull out, too:

The problem is that the next Canadian PM will probably be the Liberal Michael Ignatieff, an awful example of the pro-war "intellectual" -- now probably to the right of Harper on these matters. --CGE
