I should have added Bob Naiman's work to the list of links we could have. 
There are doubtless many more.

AWARE was originally intended to be an umbrella organization to aid in 
coordination between the many allied groups. We still do that to some 
extent, but we have become way too inbred, I submit. We now watch a few 
ducks competing for a shrinking puddle.  This is quite boring, not to 
mention counter-productive.
