Two former generals denounce former Vice President Cheney in a
scathing op-ed today.

Help spread the word – read the op-ed and post it on facebook!

It's not every day that retired generals denounce a Vice President.
But two distinguished military leaders felt compelled to speak out
against Mr. Cheney's support of torture, in an op-ed in today's Miami
Herald.

Check it out on our facebook page – and spread the word through your networks!

General Charles C. Krulak and General Joseph P. Hoar have this to say:

In the fear that followed 9/11, Americans were told that defeating Al
Qaeda would require us to "take off the gloves." As a former
Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps and a retired Commander-in-Chief
of U.S. Central Command, we knew that was a recipe for disaster. But
we never imagined that we would feel duty-bound to publicly denounce a
Vice President of the United States, a man who has served our country
for many years. In light of the irresponsible statements recently made
by former Vice President Dick Cheney, however, we feel we must
repudiate his dangerous ideas – and his scare tactics.

Read the rest of the op-ed – and post it through your networks to
increase its impact. Help us fight back against Mr. Cheney's dangerous
media blitz!

Human Rights First has been working for years with a group of
distinguished retired admirals and generals to advocate an end to
torture and official cruelty. President Obama called upon this group
to stand behind him as he signed the executive orders ending these
practices and announcing the closure of Guantanamo.

Help spread the word!

"Beyond Guantanamo: Prosecuting Terrorists and Protecting America," a
panel discussion featuring a retired general, HRF's CEO Elisa
Massimino, and a former correctional official.
